Meet the People Shaping Meimei

Rai Sutama
Co-Founder
After years in Melbourne’s restaurant scene, Rai returned to Bali to reconnect with his roots and build something of his own. Immersed once again in the vibrant Balinese culture and feeling inspired, he bravely embarked on his own entrepreneurial journey and successfully opened his own place, Yuki. He then went on to co-found Meimei, bringing a shared vision of hospitality rooted in culture, community and connection.
Dewa Wahyu Bintara
Co-Founder / Managing Director
Born and raised in West Bali, Dewa brings over 16 years of hospitality experience across some of Bali’s leading venues, including Mano Beach House, as well as international consulting work in Vietnam. At Meimei, his calm leadership and operational instinct shape everything from team culture to the rhythm of service, with a focus on creating thoughtful, grounded hospitality
Windu Tenaya
Co-Founder / Beverage Director
With over two decades behind the bar, Windu has played a quiet but influential role in Bali’s cocktail culture. At Meimei, he brings Indonesian ingredients, Asian influences and a minimalist approach to the drinks menu, creating cocktails that are balanced, expressive and approachable. He is equally passionate about mentoring Bali’s next generation of bartenders and championing the island’s evolving cocktail scene.
Yudha Permana
Executive Chef
Yudha leads the kitchen at Meimei with a modern approach to Woodfired Modern Asian cuisine, combining fresh local ingredients, charcoal cooking and contemporary technique. His work has seen him collaborate with acclaimed chefs including Adam Liston, Ben Williamson, Ross Magnaye and Louis Tikaram. At Meimei, he continues to explore the depth and diversity of Asian flavours through food that is bold, thoughtful and deeply rooted in the region.
